Annunciate le nominations ai rinomati Annie Awards, gli importanti riconoscimenti del cinema d’animazione, assegnati ogni anno alle migliori produzioni cinematografiche che si sono distinte per creatività ma soprattutto per originalità.

Da quando gli Academy Awards hanno inserito la categoria miglior film d’animazione tra i premi della Notte degli Oscar, gli Annie Awards sono passati in secondo piano diventando però nello stesso tempo una sorta di anteprima degli Oscar. A tal proposito il vincitore di questo premio quasi sempre conquista l’Oscar nella categoria miglior film d’animazione. Infatti su ben 26 edizioni (dal 1992) ben 12 volte il risultato è stato poi confermato dagli Academy Awards: Shrek, La città incantata, Alla ricerca di Nemo, Gli Incredibili, Wallace e Gromit, Ratatouille, Up, Rango, Frozen, Inside Out, Zootropolis, Coco.

Non a caso quest’anno il maggior numero di nominations agli Annie Awards le ha conquistate il film favorito agli Oscar 2019, Gli incredibili 2 (Pizar Animation Studios) che si è aggiudicato ben 11 nomination, dopo aver già vinto il National Board of Review e l’Hollywood Film Award.

Segue con 10 nomination il seguito di Ralph Spacca Tutto, Ralph Spacca Internet (Walt Disney Animation Studios). Più distanziato con 7 nomination a testa: l’altro film favorito dell‘Award Season Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Sony Pictures Animation) che ha già al suo attivo il New York Film Critics Circle Award e il Detroit Film Critics Society Award come miglior film d’animazione dell’anno.

Sorprendono in positivo le 7 nomination conquistate anche dal film I primitivi (Early Man) (Aardman Animations) che ha al momento al suo attivo un British Independent Film Awards per i migliori effetti speciali visivi.

Bottino magro per il meraviglioso film di Wes Anderson, Isle of Dogs, che si è dovuto accontentare di sole 4 nomination nonostante il favore della critica americana che gli ha recentemente assegnato il Washington DC Area Film Critisc Association Awards per il miglior film d’animazione dell’anno.
