Barbie e Oppenheimer guidano le nominations agli Astra Film & Creative Arts Awards 2024

Annunciate le candidature agli Astra Film & Creative Arts Awards (gli ex Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards e gli HCA Creative Arts Awards). A differenza degli altri Film Critics Awards, questi riconoscimenti, nati dalle ceneri degli ex Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society Awards, votati dai membri della Hollywood Creative Alliance permettono di avere un quadro più ampio sui potenziali competitors per gli Oscar per la presenza di alcune specifiche categorie aggiuntive e premi onorari. Inoltre i loro verdetti sono preceduti da una precedente sessione di premi (annunciati nel mese di giugno) durante la quale vengono resi noti i vincitori nelle varie categorie dei film usciti fino a quel momento e quindi ”di metà stagione” (HCA Midseason Film Awards) laddove l’opera prima rivelazione dell’anno Past Lives ha conquistato 3 premi (miglior film indipendente, miglior sceneggiatura, miglior attrice), anche se a vincere i due premi principali (miglior film e miglior regia) è stato l’apprezzato film d’animazione della Sony Pictures, dato come favorito per i prossimi Oscar, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
