Annunciati i vincitori dei Las Vegas Film Critics Society Awards (LVFCS), i riconoscimenti con cui i critici dell’area di Las Vegas e Reno eleggono annualmente i migliori film e le migliori performance della stagione.
Il riconoscimento per il Miglior Attore non protagonista è stato assegnato a Robert Downey jr. per Oppenheimer. E’ il suo 3° premio di stagione dopo aver vinto l’Atlanta Film Critics Circle Award e il Maltin Modern Master Award al Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Anche se i suoi rivali per la corsa agli Oscar, Ryan Gosling (Barbie) e Charles Melton (May December) hanno vinto più premi, Downey jr. è tra i più nominati del suo gruppo.
Su 25 edizioni il vincitore di questa categoria è stato confermato agli Oscar 11 volte, l’ultimo è stato Ke Huy Quan lo scorso anno per Everything Everywhere All At Once. In compenso ben 20 volte il vincitore ai LVFCS Awards per il Miglior attore non protagonista ha ottenuto successivamente la candidatura all’Oscar.
